WELCOME BACK
A memory you can walk into
Select “Return to That Summer” on the home page. Once all campus resources are ready, you begin outside the gate. Walk in first person with a keyboard, joystick or green destination marker, or switch to the aerial view to see the whole campus from above.
FROM SKETCH TO CAMPUS
Made by a person working with AI
A witness first draws remembered relationships on paper or in Concept Draw on iPad: where the teaching building stood, how corridors turned, and which tree belonged in which place. AI agents organise those clues into inspectable plans, dimensions, 3D models and code.
Every result is viewed and played in the browser. A person points out what feels wrong, too tall or impassable; an AI agent turns those observations into changes and returns them for human verification.
THINGS TO DO
Where would you like to go?
Enter a classroom
Explore buildings, corridors and classrooms. Open doors and windows, sit at a desk, then stand again.
Blackboards and chalk
Pick up and throw chalk, or write and erase on teaching blackboards. Drawings are saved locally in this browser.
Free basketball
Pick up a campus basketball, aim and control the power of your shot. Baskets from different distances score different points.
Table tennis
Visit any of the six tables on the west side for free practice or a first-to-seven match.
HYBRID MOVEMENT
Use whichever way feels familiar
Keyboard, touch joystick and destination walking are always available together. Look slightly down. When a translucent green ring and pin appear near the centre of the view, click or tap to walk to that point.
- Walk automatically: click or tap a green marker to travel directly to it. You can still look around while moving.
- Stop at any time: click or tap again. Keyboard or joystick input also takes over immediately.
- Narrow spaces: near doors, stairs, corridors and desk aisles, the marker searches for safe footing without passing through walls or closed doors.
- Range: destinations can be up to 20 metres away across floors, stairs, ramps and upper walkways.
The marker hides while W, A, S, D or an arrow key is held, and returns when all movement keys are released.
DESKTOP
Keyboard, mouse and destination walking
- Move: W, A, S, D or arrow keys; hold Shift to run.
- Go to a point: look down and click a green marker. Click again, press a movement key or enter another activity to stop.
- Look and interact: click the view to enable mouse look. Aim at an interactive object and click; objects take priority over ground destinations.
- Inspect objects: while viewing a book, picture or small object, click the round X at the top right or press X. Clicking empty space does not close it.
- Minigames: press X to return to the campus; press Esc for Resume or Exit to Campus.
- Basketball: if a green marker is visible, clicking walks. Raise the view until it disappears, then hold and release the left mouse button to shoot.
- View: use the top-right view button or V to switch between first person and aerial view.
- Esc: releases mouse look while walking; click the view to restore it.
PHONE AND TABLET
Joystick, drag and tap
- Move manually: drag the left joystick. Joystick input immediately stops automatic walking.
- Look: drag the view. A movement beyond the tap threshold is treated only as looking.
- Go to a point: tap a green marker. You can drag to look while moving; tap again to stop.
- Interact: when the crosshair is over a ball, chalk, book, door, window or other object, a tap uses that object first.
- Inspect objects: tap the round X at the top right to close; tapping empty space does not close.
- Basketball: a tap walks when a marker is visible. Raise the view and use the bottom-right shoot control to take a shot.
- Table tennis: hold to move the ball and paddle, release to toss, then touch again and swing.
Landscape gives a wider view, but portrait mode remains usable. Two-finger gestures, cancelled touches and screen rotation are not treated as destination taps.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Useful things to know
Why is the green marker sometimes hidden?
It is hidden while movement keys are held, when you are not looking at the ground, beyond 20 metres, where footing is unsafe, or when a wall or closed door blocks the way. It is also unavailable in aerial view, while seated, when inspecting documents and during some activities.
Why does the first visit take time?
The complete models, textures and common sounds are prepared before you enter so the campus does not appear piece by piece. On a slow connection, leave the page open.
Are blackboard drawings uploaded?
No. They remain in local browser storage and may disappear if you clear site data.
Why do some details differ from memory?
The project is an evolving reconstruction from first-hand memory and limited sources, not a measured archive. Uncertain details may still change.
What if I cannot hear anything?
Your browser may block autoplay. Select “Play Music” on the home page; campus ambience also needs one user interaction before it can begin.
